Horse Crazy

Horses are so dear to my heart that my website wouldn't be complete without them!

I have always been horse-crazy but never had the opportunity to have a horse of my own. Then as a busy mom with 3 sons, I had given up this 30 year dream, thinking that it was too late and we all had to grow up sometime. When I finally did get back into horses (thanks to my husband's encouragement) as an adult, I found a piece of myself that I didn't even know was missing! Now horses are an important part of my life. Spending time with them is healing and spiritual for me, it gives me energy, motivation, and a renewed sense of joy. I know that committing to the time it takes to have this dream makes me a better wife, mother, and all-around contented human being.

What happened to your childhood dream?

Its not too late to make it happen and to accomplish those goals you set aside.

I have the privilege of being the professional organizer of the Calleva Equestrian Education Program in Dickerson, Maryland. I have been a part of the Calleva family for over 10 years now. I am a Horseback Riding Instructor there and also train horses, especially my equine best friends, Max and Toby.

I have to credit Max, Calleva and Parelli Natural Horsemanship for changing me from a natural control-freak to a more relaxed and laid-back type of person. I learned that the "label it" approach doesn't work with people OR horses. This in turn helped me realize that the same philosophy applies to my clients. Instead of focusing on how I think the space SHOULD look, I focus on the best solution that will provide lasting results for each unique type of person.
